STEADY PROGRESS CONTINUES

ALTHOUGH the progress of the relaunch of the Northam Motorplex has been hindered in recent years, track owner Rick Musarra remains optimistic about the track being up and running in the not too distant future.

After taking over the Western Australian track’s ownership in late 2019, Musarra has been plugging away with his small team to rebuild the facility in an effort to move closer towards the relaunch of the venue as the Northam Motorplex.

“Since we have taken over the facility a few years back, we have been working on rebuilding the place and giving it the facelift that it so desperately needed,” he commented.

“In a perfect world, the track would be up and running by now, but unfortunately, it hasn’t worked out that way. The rebuild process has taken a lot longer than expected, as I wanted to make sure that every improvement that we make is of a high standard.”

Musarra continued on by saying that there have been a few other things that have got in the way of the Northam Motorplex’s rebuild process.

“Apart from the obvious COVID-19 delays, there has been a slowdown in the economy around the world and I’ve also had some pressing commitments to attend to within my other business interests, which has taken away my focus on the Northam Motorplex,” he explained.

“That said, I am still very committed to the Northam Motorplex, and I am hoping to have the venue operating in the not too distant future.”

There is certainly a lot of buzz around the relaunch of the Northam Motorplex, not just as a speedway facility, but as a general motorsport one.
